Internships Available: All Semesters
As Delaware's Lieutenant Governor, Matt Denn's promise and goal is to be a voice for Delaware's children in the halls of government. Lieutenant Governor Denn's office seeks enthusiastic and responsible interns for all semesters. Internship assignments are available in all areas of the office, including policy analysis and legislative research, communications, and outreach. Internships will provide a great opportunity for students to gain hands on experience in a small yet energetic office that is responsible for serving the entire state through a myriad of issues, programs and services. Interns will learn from and work with professional staff. Interns are assigned substantive projects, determined by their areas of study and specialization, initiative and motivation.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Familiarity with computers and Microsoft Office
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Initiative and drive to excel
Interns may work at either of our locations on the 10th floor of the Carvel State Building, 820 N. French Street, in Wilmington or on the 3rd floor of the Tatnall Building, 150 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. South, in Dover. Interns work during normal business hours, and if desired may work some evenings and weekends. Internships are unpaid but may be taken for college credit, which must be approved prior to the start of the internship. Students may help determine the number of hours and days per week they work and may set up a flexible but regular schedule to accommodate classes and other commitments.
