Provider Resources

Delaware Early Childhood Council (DECC)

Promotes the development of a comprehensive and coordinated early childhood system, birth to eight, which provides the highest quality services and environment for Delaware’s children and their families.

Delaware Association for the Education of Young Children (deaeyc)

Promotes national standards for early care and education as defined by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC); to provide and support opportunities for professional development; to advocate for children, families, and early care and education professionals; and to build community awareness and support for the early care and education profession.

Delaware Institute for Excellence in Early Childhood (DIEEC)

Focuses on improving the lives of young children and their families by strengthening early childhood experiences. They develop and deliver comprehensive, evidence-based supports for early childhood professionals, children, and families. Through innovative research and partnerships, they advance equity and promote high-quality education. Housed within the University of Delaware’s College of Education and Human Development, DIEEC works collaboratively to build a brighter future for all children.

Kids & Families Resources

Department of Education (DOE)

Develops and promotes programs to ensure qualified professionals provide excellent care from birth through age eight and as children transition into the K-12 school system.

Department of Health & Social Services (DHSS)

Provides support for families with children to enable the caretaker to hold a job, obtain training or meet special needs of the parent or child. Child care may also be provided in child abuse cases to help protect the child. If you are working, you may have to pay a portion of your child care expenses. Contact a DSS office to get more information on the program rules and fees.

Department of Services for Children, Youth, & Their Families (DSCYF)

To promote the safety and well-being of children and their families through prevention, protection, and permanency.

Child Find and Early Childhood Special Education Referral Process (DOE)

For parents/guardians with concerns about their child’s development, can have your child evaluated to determine if he/she is eligible for early intervention/early childhood special education services.

Children & Families First (CFF)

Offers AccessCare, a free program that helps families find and choose the best child care to fit their needs. This program connects families with child care providers in the area. They also provide referrals for Purchase of Care, family home child care, child care centers, preschools, school age programs (including before and after care, and holiday break care), and summer camps.
