Interagency Resource Management Committee
What is the Interagency Resource Management Committee?
The Interagency Resource Management Committee (IRMC) is responsible for establishing a comprehensive and coordinated early childhood education system in the First State. The committee is comprised of Delaware’s Cabinet Secretaries, senior leadership from state agencies, members of the Delaware General Assembly, and the Delaware Early Childhood Council (DECC) who work together to ensure kids, families, and early education providers are best served statewide.
Core Objectives
The IRMC is will focus on the following objectives to develop a robust statewide early education strategy:
- Defining Key Terms: A specific focus on defining early childhood education as a public good in Delaware.
- Identifying Infrastructure: Determining where and how early childhood education is provided statewide.
- Prioritizing Workforce: Bolstering supports for current early childhood education providers while working to build the workforce.
- Defining Quality: Setting clear standards for quality early childhood education that meet the diverse needs of children and families.
- Identifying Funding Mechanisms: Identifying how early childhood education is currently funded and researching opportunities for alternative revenue streams.
- Establishing an Implementation Model: Determining Delaware’s early childhood education model.
