Dave Humes, Governance Chairperson and POSDC Member

In May 2012, Dave Humes lost his son, Greg, to an accidental heroin overdose. In the aftermath of Greg’s death, Dave made a vow to save a life in Greg’s name. Dave closed his business and became an advocate as a way of fulfilling that vow. He was seated as an initial board member of atTAcK addiction in 2013. Dave led the organization’s effort in passing many pieces of legislation including the “911 Good Samaritan Law” (2013) and the nation’s first “Opioid Impact Fee Law” (2019). He retired from the board of atTAcK addiction having served for ten years. Dave is a master naloxone trainer and conducts community training anywhere in the state.
